The Polar Cruise
Welcome to a brand new D-Ticket boat attraction coming to Hong Kong Disneyland along with Winterland. The ride will transport guests to the icy seas of both Antarctica and The Arctic and will let them discover the countless adventures that await there.
Facade
The facade of this attraction is a simple dock/fishing hut covered with snow and ice.
Queue
The journey begins when guests find themselves on an outdoor dock that runs along a lake filled with icebergs and different kinds of ice. The queue winds arounds the covered dock, which showcases different items that could be found throughout the polar regions (a narwhal's horn, the tooth of a sperm whale). When guests finally reach the end of the queue, they will find a boat waiting.
Vehicle
The vehicle is themed to an exploration boat that has traveled the polar regions for a long time. It is not covered, unlike the Jungle Cruise Boats, but it is guided along the bottom of the lake. This attraction has no skipper, but instead uses recorded dialog.
Ride Experience
Guests depart the dock and the recorded narration begins. The boat begins to speed up, and reaches a large iceberg. The boat turns right and enters a large, glowing cave. As they wind through the cave, guests will discover different kind of animatronic animals found throughout Antarctica. They see seals, penguins, whales, and seabirds. After a trip through the colorful cave, they arrive "outdoors" (actually in the show building with a projected sky). They now find themselves in the Arctic.
On an iceberg they see polar bears, foxes and birds in the sky. Throughout the water, seals and narwhals can be found. A beautiful Aurora Borealis takes place, shimmering throughout the sky. Guests exit the show building and begin their journey back through the lake to the covered dock.

Penguin Run
This C-ticket uses a brand new ride system to send guests sliding up and down several hills on their stomachs as if they were penguins themselves!
Queue
This is a basic switchback queue. The entrance is through the same mountain as the Explorer's Cavern, but in a smaller tunnel. The railings are made out of ice. The queue winds around the first boarding area and doubles back on itself several times. On one end of the queue, there are several penguin nests. Animatronic penguin chicks peek out occasionally. Eventually, the queue exits the mountain and winds toward the station, which is a small hut made out of snow.
Ride Vehicle
This vehicle uses a system specifically created for Penguin Run. The bottom track has slots for two enormous 7-foot-tall wheels, which are themed as snowflakes. There is also a second track that runs through the very center of the wheels. Mounted on the axle between the wheels is an area with indentations for two guests to lay on their stomachs, side by side.
When the vehicle rolls up and down the hills, a computer stabilizes the guests so that they remain mostly parallel to the ground. Occasionally, the computer will allow for a little bit of tilt to create a thrilling effect.
Ride Experience
The vehicle leaves the station and guests find themselves outdoors in the barren land of Antarctica. The vehicle rolls itself up the first hill, which is not very steep, but very long. On the way, guests pass by animatronics of many types of Antarctic penguins, going about their business.
Once at the top, guests get a moment to look down across the valley, covered in blinding white snow. Then...
The vehicle begins to roll down the first hill. From there, it's an adventure through the Antarctic plain! The vehicle winds around and goes up and down several hills. None of the hills are very steep, but they provide for a thrilling experience as the vehicle banks from one side to the other, many times over.
Finally, guests arrive at the freezing waters of the ocean. But they are in for a surprise! As the vehicle rolls across an ice shelf and gets closer to the water, a leopard seal lunges out and snaps at the guests. The track quickly turns to avoid the seal, goes through a snow tunnel, and arrives back at the station where the next excited guests are ready to board.
