Alpine Trails
This is a new D-ticket family coaster located in the Scandinavian village section of Winterland. Guests are a part of the crew of villagers that are about to hike the mountain along the mysterious trails.
Queue
This ride shares the facade of the Alpine mountain range that surrounds the Scandinavian part of the land. Guests enter the queue in an area with signs of preparation for an expedition. There are crates and supplies scattered all over. After this area, guests enter a section in a little "base hut", which has many rocks and snow around it. After a few switchbacks in this area, guests board the vehicle.
Vehicle
The vehicles are not new to the average Disney Parks fan; they are the same 3 rows of 1 that are found on Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds and Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain.
Ride Experience
The ride experience is most comparable to The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Primeval Whirl in terms of length and thrills. The ride starts out with a lift hill up the side of one of the mountains, where guests enter a cave at the top. Guests are in for a small drop out of the cave, and then ride along the snowy tops of the mountain. There are small bumps throughout the rest of the ride as passengers slowly make their way back down to the unloading area, riding through the forested alpine trails.
The ride ends with a small but thrilling drop, and then pulls into the exit area. The duration is under 2 minutes, perfect for a family coaster.

Viking Longboat
The Viking Longboat is a shuttle coaster (like RC Racer) coming to the Scandinavian area of Winterland.
Queue
The queue winds through a forest of snow-covered pine trees and into a cave, and emerges into a Norwegian fjord. Guests walk down the wooden dock, where a traditional Viking ship is anchored.
Vehicle
Like the RC Racer, the Viking Longboat seats 5 rows of 4. It is a detailed replica of an actual Viking ship, with oars protruding from the sides that row by themselves.
Ride Experience
After the guests board, the loading platform sinks under the water. The ship slowly moves forward and backward, up and down the track, as if riding on gentle waves. The speed and momentum gradually increase, until the ship rises almost to the top of the track on both sides!
Then something extra happens. Since the loading platform sank under the water, the ship has room to pivot a full 360 degrees! Over and over again, the ship spins around, while at the same time rushing up and down the track. This creates an effect that feels like a real storm at sea.
Eventually, the ship loses momentum and slows down. It pivots back into its original orientation, and the loading platform rises back out of the water. Guests exit the vehicle back into the Scandinavian village.
